Jane Mayle is quitting the business. The holiday/resort collection will be her last
& her Elizabeth Street shop will close in February.
She told WWD “The customer gets tired before the collections even hit stores.
That mystery & remoteness & insouciance have
disappeared from fashion in order to accelerate the product.
I feel I have just become another cog in that machinery.
